The Boerne Independent School District received a “Superior Rating” with an overall score of 98 in the 2019-2020 Texas Education Agency Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas. The ranking, the state’s highest, demonstrates the quality of BISD’s financial management and reporting system and is based on analysis of the district’s financial data for fiscal year 2019, administrators said. “We are extremely proud to have earned a ‘Superior Financial Integrity Rating.’ We do our very best to be fiscally responsible and use extreme caution when spending taxpayer money,” said Superintendent Thomas Price in a news release.

The new Interstate 10 West eastbound exit ramp to Fair Oaks Parkway opened in early September, and will be permanent. The existing eastbound exit ramp was closed for good. The newly launched Greyhounds Sports Network and Chargers Sports Network give sports fans of Boerne and Boerne-Champion high schools a new way to watch sporting events. Both are available for free on YouTube and will broadcast select games during the 2020-2021 academic year. Boerne Independent School District teamed up with Wich Productions to form the systems, and is working with Boerne Extracurricular and Sports Trust, plus other community partners.

Voss Middle School has started UberBooks, a safe and easy way for students to choose the campus’ reading materials during the coronavirus outbreak. Pupils request books from the library via an online form, and then aides deliver them to classrooms or to be picked up by e-learners.

Amara Apartments, a 308-unit complex at 19327 Talavera Ridge near The Rim, is listed for sale through commercial brokerage Jones Lang LaSalle. The luxury multifamily residential property, where construction wrapped up about a year ago, was last assessed for $43.7 million, according to the Bexar Appraisal District.
