After five years in the Shops at La Cantera, Gautier has reopened in a new location to better accommodate its collection of homecoming and prom dresses, women’s evening wear and bridal attire.

In August, Gautier debuted in a 15,000-square-foot showroom at 10515 Interstate 10 West, next to Papasito’s Cantina.

“We only had six dressing rooms and people would wait for like three hours to try on dresses,” said manager Grace Entringer. “We were like, ‘That’s it, we need a bigger space, bigger everything just to be more comfortable.’”

In addition to more dressing rooms, the new location features a photography spot for brides and those headed to the prom.

“You come here and it’s like an experience,” Entringer added.

Bridal fittings are by appointment only; friends and family can enjoy complimentary champagne.

Mother-of-the-bride, flower girl and bridesmaid dresses, as well as tuxedos, are also offered.

Gautier has options for every occasion, Entriger said, with more than 3,000 styles from a plethora of designers.

“Right now what is really, really in is … a lot of beaded, a lot of sparkly, a lot of ‘wow’ dresses,” Entringer said.

Purchasing formal attire at least two months in advance is recommended. Layaway is also available.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Wednesday through Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, and closed Tuesday.
