For nearly two decades, Dr. M.N. Almouie has dedicated himself to helping children at Almouie Pediatrics.
“I created my own practice so I can provide the care for the kids with passion,” Almouie said. “The motto from day one was that there was room to improve.”
The Syrian native emigrated stateside in 1993 with a medical degree and $700. Since then, he’s opened 12 clinics from San Antonio to Corpus Christi. One of the latest debuted in December at 17026 Bulverde Road, Suite 105.
“We’re trying to think differently when we choose our locations than a typical pediatric practice or any medical practice,” said the married father of five. “Instead of clustering or staying close to a big hospital, we tried to stay in the communities.”
Staff doctors offer a range of services, from wellness exams to immunizations and psychology, plus treatment for asthma, weight, allergies, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, acne and more.
Another new practice is at 8535 Blanco Road, Suite 103.
Physicians rotate between the two sites, enabling clients to see the same medic.
“It’s more interaction between the teams, so we think at the end will be better results,” the doctor said.
Everyone is family, from patients to employees, the founder said.
Exam rooms have televisions, and nurses use stickers and small toys to keep young patients occupied.
Each practice utilizes separate “sick” and “well” waiting rooms to minimize infectious diseases. Also available are same-day appointments and a full laboratory.
“People can copy us in everything we do, but they cannot copy our passion. That’s all the way across from the front desk to nurses to providers to management,” Almouie said.
Several insurance plans are accepted.
Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
