Shoppers on a pilgrimage to find distinctive home goods, apparel and textiles might find their prayers answered when they visit Temple of Offering.
The store opened in March just east of downtown at 125 Lamar St., Suite 106.
“Offering is full of objects that we feel … are sacred and meaningful. Everything that we have brought into this space is with a lot of intention and thought,” said Jake Scott, co-owner with Alex Lee.
The business partners share an interest in fashion, design and culture. Before opening Offering, they ran Indy Coffee Club for five years.
“The concept of this space is to have articles of clothing that are reflective of our climate here in South Texas. We wanted to be fashion-forward, but also functional,” Scott said.
The store’s look is designed to capture a rustic feel from the state’s pioneer days, with rough textures.
Offering works with companies that use “transparent ethical practices,” are environmentally conscious and have a low environmental impact, Scott said.
The store has partnered with companies that use organic cotton or hemp to make garments.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
