Mo’s Irish Pub brings a taste of the Emerald Isle to the Alamo Quarry Market with drinks, traditional comfort foods and live music.
The pub opened its doors March 12 in the former spot of Joe’s Crab Shack, 255 E. Basse Road, Suite 1400. This is the seventh location of the Wisconsin-based company, with four in Texas.
“We are an Irish pub, but we serve Irish-American comfort food,” said General Manager Jimmie Taylor. “In addition, we also have live entertainment, so it’s kind of like three different venues in one.”
The menu at Mo’s features scratch-made traditional and Irish-fusion dishes, from the shepherd’s pie and fish and chips, to the Bacon Boxty, a rolled potato pancake with bacon and eggs, drizzled with a four-cheese sauce.
The pub offers a full bar as well as craft, domestic and imported beer selections. Elixirs include Mo’s Irish Float, a cocktail of spiced rum, Baileys Irish Cream liqueur and root beer, and the Mo-Garita, Mo’s take on the margarita, which is a concoction of Jameson Irish Whiskey, Triple Sec, sour mix, lime juice and lemon-lime soda.
Happy hour is 3-6 p.m. weekdays, with specials on more than 22 draft beers.
Thursday through Saturday, the eatery hosts live music, featuring bands from across Texas.
“The bands perform on the patio. We can fit a five-man band there comfortably with enough room for people to get up there and dance,” Taylor said. “It’s really cool.”
Hours are 11 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday.
