Home & Patio continues to be a family affair

Since 1967, Home & Patio has been the address for quality outdoor furniture in San Antonio, and now there’s a showroom near The Dominion, company officials said.

“We’ve been serving this area for decades. We just thought we needed a more permanent (presence) out here,” said co-owner Judy Kelley.

The outlet at 19727 Interstate 10 West opened in late December, joining the original store and warehouse on 1047 N.E. Loop 410.

Home & Patio is a family business created by William R. Kelley and his wife Maxine. When William R. Kelley died in 2012, the business went to their son Roger Kelley.

Roger Kelley ran it for five years until his death in 2017. His wife, Judy, and son Adam are the current proprietors. One of the last things Roger Kelley did was buy the land for the new location.

“It was his dream. We just followed through with it,” Judy Kelley said.

The shop sells seating, dining, umbrellas, firepits and fireplaces.

Almost everything can be customized, especially sofas, armchairs and sectionals.

“Instead of buying online, you can come in here and sit on it, and we back our product,” Kelley said.

Current trends include more contemporary and transitional styles.

The Kelleys said they offer quality furniture with affordable and high-end options.

Pieces are designed to withstand South Texas weather.

“Our products last so long, we don’t have customers coming back every three years to buy something. They come back every 10 to 15 years to buy something,” Adam Kelley said.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
