Staffers at Snooze an A.M. Eatery want diners to start the day on the right foot.
“We’re really focused on creating just a really awesome environment to celebrate and share life with your friends and family through really awesome food and fun,” said general manager Amanda Elling.
Snooze opened Sept. 5 in The Vineyard, 1305 N. Loop 1604 West. It’s the second one in town; the first debuted March 2017 at 255 E. Basse Road, Suite 160.
The new location was formerly an Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar, where Elling started her career as a hostess, eventually advancing to management.
“I feel like it kind of came full circle,” Elling said.
Every eatery in the Denver-based chain undertakes fundraising for charitable causes, and the new Alamo City spot is no exception. Before opening, Snooze collected nearly $18,000 for DaisyCares, Soldiers’ Angels and Sunshine Cottage School for Deaf Children.
Elling said dishes can be customized.
“I would say the best thing about Snooze is you get to have breakfast your way, not our way,” she added.
The menu, divided into sections, trumpets eggs, sandwiches, eggs Benedict, pancakes, French toast and lighter fare. Drinks range from coffee, tea, juice and soda to morning cocktails.
A fall menu touts Rummmosa, a play on a mimosa with spiced rum, and Smashin’ Pumpkin Pancakes, which are pumpkin flapjacks filled with cream cheese and topped by bourbon-infused maple syrup.
Snooze practices conservation to limit waste headed to landfills.
“We’re not only offering great things to our guests … we’re leaving the world a little better of a place than we got it,” Elling said.
Hours are 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily.
