Clinic strives for patients’ convenience

CONVERSE — The latest MedPost Urgent Care is accessible and affordable for those in need, according to a company official.

“It’s really all (to) benefit … the patient,” said marketing director Tom Clapham.

The clinic opened at 8380 FM 78 in late May. Another launched January 2017 at 513 Cibolo Valley Drive, Suite 101 in Cibolo.

“Urgent care is so convenient, especially at Cibolo and Converse, to get in and out of there quickly and have a good experience,” Clapham said.

Improving those visits is MedPost’s mission. The business strives to provide “quick and compassionate” medical care for non-life-threatening issues through doctors, nurses and physician assistants, according to its website.

Affiliated with Baptist Health System, facilities are typically built near its hospitals, but run independently to lessen costs, the company said.

Having the same parent company “helps to extend the footprint of the network into communities,” Clapham added.

Patients can be referred to physicians or specialists within the Baptist network if they wish a follow-up visit or have other medical needs.

The ill and injured can make appointments online, made easy using tablets, or simply walk in. When a patient is seen at one MedPost clinic, the information remains in the system going forward.

“I’ve seen a lot of urgent cares, and ours are comfortable, they’re clean, they’re run efficiently, they have a high standard of care,” Clapham said.

MedPost sees patients from 6 months old to the elderly, and treats various medical issues including flu, minor injuries, strep throat and more.

An on-site X-ray technician is available.

Hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
