Joshua Pearl and Nathan Alderete say they’re in the business of helping people, and that’s why they opened Gruene Cross.
The shop at 18817 FM 2252 (Nacogdoches Road), Suite 6 in Bracken, sells alternative plant-based health and wellness products using cannabidiol, or CBD, derived from a hemp-based process, the partners said.
According to the company’s website, CBD — discovered in the cannabis plant — is considered by researchers to have beneficial medical applications because of its non-psychoactive properties.
“It is the only thing we’ve found on this planet that mimics what our body produces, one-to-one with no synthetics,” Pearl said.
The shop held a grand opening April 20.
Gruene Cross sells topicals, tinctures, beauty products, capsules, oils and dabs, plus food and beverages. It also has dog treats made locally by HunniSnax Barkery & Boutique.
“Everything that we do is 100 percent responsibly sourced,” Alderete said.
Products aren’t tested on animals, the owners added.
Pain creams are top sellers, followed by infused caramels.
“We make sure all of our staff is highly educated in the process and the plant as possible, and we take our time with our customers,” Pearl said.
Hours are weekdays 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., weekends 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
