It was during her tenure with TASTE Magazine that she developed a true understanding and appreciation for publishing. Six years ago, the idea of connecting communities became a reality for Jaselle as she helped launch LOCAL Community News.In 2015, Jaselle became an active member of the Association of Free Community Papers after being nominated and awarded for three consecutive years as an AFCP “Rising Star.” She currently sits on the AFCP Revenue Committee where she volunteers her time and strategizes with other young, emerging leaders within the free paper industry.Jaselle enjoys reading, traveling, volunteering and spending time with family.She is a “millennial” who lives for disrupting the mantra, “print is dead.” THOMAS EDWARDSEXECUTIVE EDITORThomas Edwards is a veteran journalist who has covered San Antonio off and on for nearly three decades at the San Antonio Express-News and Prime Time Newspapers, as well as managing a daily newspaper in the Hill Country. He also is a self-described “military brat” who grew up on Fort Sam Houston and in the neighborhoods around the post. Half of his nearly 30-year career was spent covering crime, public safety and courts for the Express-News, where he saw enough tragedies—and a few triumphs — to fill a book or two. He is the former vice president of the San Antonio Press Club, a contributor to a wide variety of magazines and newspapers and an award-winning writer. Not long ago, he took first place in a state journalism contest for an article profiling a mass murderer now sitting on Death Row. He is married with two children, and splits his time between a home in north-central San Antonio and a horse farm west of Austin.
