Fans of mysteries, brainteasers, interactive obstacles and beating the clock will find everything they’re looking for at Extreme Escape-Stone Oak.

Located at 434 N. Loop 1604 West, Suite 1204, the new San Antonio game room offers a series of themed chambers, with players solving deadline-based puzzles to win freedom.

Extreme Escape debuted in October and has four adventures: Cursed (“pure evil awaits you”); Encounter (aliens and outer space); The Lost Tomb (“the gods have been angered”); and The Other Side (“survive the ‘Dark Dimension’”).

At this venue for all ages, a parent or guardian must accompany children under age 10.

The adventures build bonds among groups, including corporate retreats, according to its website.

“Extreme Escape proves that effective team-building activities for work don’t have to be boring,” the site adds. “Nothing energizes a team more than getting to know one another outside the typical work environment, where deadlines cause stress and the hierarchy can create divides.”

Alex Amaro, director of marketing for parent company Phillips Entertainment, said the business chose the Stone Oak area because it’s growing and lively.

“We like to be competitively priced with rest of the escape-room experiences in San Antonio,” said Amaro, a 16-year employee.

Another outlet, Extreme Escape-Colonnade, is at 9995 Interstate 10 West near Wurzbach Road.

Stone Oak hours are 2:30-7:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 2:30-10:45 p.m. Friday, noon to 11:15 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 8:15 p.m. Sunday.
