Providing nutritious meals at affordable prices led Ifran Bhaidani to open a Freshii franchise in the Alamo City.

“Freshii is a health-casual restaurant brand that serves fresh food to energize people on the go,” Bhaidani said.

The bistro at 22026 U.S. 281 North, Suite 101, opened Oct. 9. Bhaidani picked the location because he felt an eatery delivering healthy options fit in with all the nearby gyms.

The customizable menu includes breakfast, soups, salads, wraps, bowls, burritos, frozen yogurt, juices and smoothies, served in what Bhaidani called an eco-friendly environment.

The Oaxaca, Teriyaki Twist and Pangoa bowls are some of the most popular items.

Bhaidani noted his establishment caters to any dietary need or restriction; food preparation involves organic ingredients, locally sourced whenever possible.

Diners are becoming more conscious about what they consume, he added.

“Freshii is always incorporating the newest food trends with a healthy twist in an inviting environment,” Bhaidani said.

Matthew Corrin, Freshii founder and owner, was inspired to start the chain after witnessing New York City mom-and-pop delis’ fresh offerings. In 2005, the Canadian native launched the first one in Toronto.

Hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekends.
