CONVERSE — The director of Bo-Peep Daycare Center II says the curriculum stands out because of a hands-on approach to learning.

“Bo-Peep is a child care learning facility and we teach them everything from writing to colors to numbers to shapes. Anything and everything that they need to learn before they go to kinder,” said Director Charity Santell. “I think that we’re more hands-on with the kids. We don’t have computer labs or anything like that.”

Situated at 8110 Lone Shadow Trail, this enterprise opened in early May. Affiliated with Bo-Peep Learning Center, it’s the fourth area location.

Santell has worked three years with the company.

The center offers day and after-school care for ages 6 weeks to 12 years, plus drop-offs and pickups to and from the campus. Rates are affordable, according to Santell. Child care assistance is available.

It takes much patience to work with youngsters, but Santell loves her job.

“I just enjoy being with them. I like to see them from being little and then thriving and seeing their full potential. The main thing is to get them as far (ahead) as possible before they get to elementary school,” Santell said.

Hours are 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. weekdays.
