HOLLYWOOD PARK — If you’re craving “a taste of Louisiana,” drop by a new watering hole called Walk-On’s Bistreaux & Bar.

It opened a few months ago at 1400 Pantheon Way, serving up traditional Cajun-style dishes as well as traditional fare, according to Travis Etheridge, the executive kitchen manager.

“We’ve got things that definitely have a very high popularity in Louisiana,” said Etheridge, who got involved in the restaurant business at age 17.

Walk-On’s offers crawfish étouffée, Louisiana jumbo shrimp, burgers and more.

The most popular items on the menu are the Mardi Gras Mahi, the Voodoo Shrimp and the Tuscan Chicken, he said.

Visitors can enjoy a variety of sports entertainment, including college football on Saturdays, professional football on Sundays, Spurs games and hockey.

Private gatherings and viewing parties can also be arranged at the restaurant.

“People come to watch the games,” Etheridge said. “So they sit there for three hours and it gives you the opportunity to meet the people and learn about them, and build a relationship with them.”

Hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday.
