Keep in the heart of Texas, winter is a wonderland full of some of San Antonio’s brightest stars. From cultured gals to cowboy pals, there was something for everyone to celebrate during the season of giving.

TETCO’s Country Christmas Party found frolickers killin’ time and two-steppin’ till dawn while country music legend Clint Black crooned everyone’s favorite tunes.  Everyone left feelin’ like a better man after TETCO and the Turner Family Foundation presented a $50,000 check to Returning Heroes Home. Fortune-tellers, caricature artists and fabulous food from the chefs at JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa kept the crowd kickin’ up their holiday heels all night long.

Tablescapes, a unique luncheon held at the San Antonio Country Club, featured dozens of lavishly adorned tables and speaker Mark D. Sikes, author of the New York Times best-seller “Beautiful: All‐American Decorating and Timeless Style.”

Chaired by Julie Dorbandt, Hilary Hamilton and Jill Peavy, the proceeds from this primary fundraiser for the Kappa Kappa Gamma San Antonio Area Alumnae Association went to benefit SAReads.

The 2017 Book & Author Luncheon featured writers Ben Blum, David Carter, Sally Mott Freeman, David Grann, Lyanda Lynn Haupt and Sarah Penrod. Mistress of Ceremonies Colleen Grissom was once again hilarious and outstanding. The event attracted a full ballroom of guests who were delighted with presentations by the authors, as well as the chance to purchase books and have them signed before and after the delicious meal. More than $3.7 million has been raised to benefit the UT Health Cancer Center’s research during the quarter-century history of the fundraiser.
