Dominion Nail Bar is the perfect spot in Leon Springs to indulge yourself, said manager Jenny Nguyen.
“When (you) get away from home, away from the kids for two hours, you want to be somewhere where you can relax, you can enjoy yourself, and pamper yourself,” Nguyen said.
The salon at 23718 Interstate 10 West, Suite 107, in Dominion Springs Plaza opened June 2. It is one of the first tenants in the complex across from Leon Springs Elementary School.
Nguyen started in the industry at age 21, just a year after she moved stateside from Vietnam; she’s been in the industry 14 years.
“It’s a new area for me, but it’s not a new business for me,” Nguyen said.
The shop features manicures and pedicures, ranging from solar sets, color powder, and shellac/gel colors. Private-party rooms are available for up to six people.
Hues are abundant for nails.
“There’s one color for everybody. … All colors are organized by shade,” Nguyen said. “It’s from experience. I make it easy for customers to choose.”
The honey and milk pedicure is popular. Feet, soaking in a warm milk bath, are buffed with a honey- sugar scrub and massaged with honey butter. Then, the feet stay moisturized in warm paraffin wax.
Waxing for faces and arms is offered, too, plus eyelash extensions.
Each service sports a complimentary drink. Nguyen said the built-in bar offers cocktails, champagne or water with cucumber.
Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are preferred.
“So far I have had a lot of friendly customers. They’re very nice, really easy to please,” Nguyen said.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
